Food Security Sector

The concept of food security refers to the importance of providing what individuals need of basic foodstuffs, especially in times of disasters. Today, the Syrian society faces many challenges and crises, which exacerbate the living situation of the Syrian family.
Our work in the food security program to provide food for the vulnerable, affected and poor in Syria is evident by launching various relief campaigns that provide food continuously, and the ability to reach those in need directly and quickly.

We at WIFAK Humanitarian Association also work to strengthen local food production capabilities.

Types of projects included in the food security program:
Seasonal projects and campaigns: such as the projects of the blessed month of Ramadan (break fast - zakat al-Fitr...) and sacrifice projects

Ramadan this year is different from what preceded it, as poverty and need have increased in Gaza and Syria Therefore, Wifak Humanitarian Association launches its annual campaign of Ramadan to provide iftar meals and assistance to fasting people throughout the blessed month

Seasonal Projects and Campaigns

WIFAK Humanitarian Association works through seasonal projects and campaigns to achieve a humanitarian response at specific times, such as projects for the blessed month of Ramadan, sacrificial projects, urgent response campaigns for food, as well as food aid in winter or when disasters occur.

Bread Distribution Projects

Bread is the basic food for all Syrians, and WIFAK Humanitarian Association works through bread distribution projects to secure basic food for the displaced and those living in tents.

Eid al-Adha - syria 2023

A seasonal project launched by Wifak Humanitarian Association, aiming to honour the tradition of our father Abraham peace be upon him, through sacrificing animals by proxy on behalf of their owners. The sacrifices are done in dedicated places, making sure that everything done in an Islamically correct manner, and that the animal is the appropriate age and free from any defects or diseases. The meat is distributed to our virtuous brothers and sisters, people living in tents, and the poor in Syria.

Food Basket Distribution Projects

The regions of northern Syria, the northern countryside of Aleppo and the countryside of Idlib, suffer from significantly high unemployment rates, and the region is considered a non productive consumer region. It is inhabited by large numbers of people as a result of large displacement movements to these areas from all over Syria. As a result, most of the people suffer from poor living conditions, so we work on alleviating this suffering through food basket distribution projects, especially to the vulnerable groups such as families of orphans, the elderly, people with special needs and the displaced.
