Al-Shifa Hospital has been operating in Afrin since 2018 and serves patients in the city of Afrin and its suburbs, with a population reaching 400,000 people. The daily number of patients had reached 500, since the hospital includes most of the specialized clinics. The hospital was providing its various services under the supervision of specialized doctors, and it had a major role in reducing the medical burden on the region. It also contributed to performing important surgeries, such as eye surgeries, obstetrics, etc.
On 12-06-2021, Al-Shifa Hospital was bombed, which led to the destruction of large sections of the hospital, halting the work of most of its clinics.
Because of the great need for Al-Shifa Hospital and its staff in the region, Wifak Humanitarian Association is working on this project to rebuild the structurally damaged sections, which is approximately 1120 square meters, in a safer manner than the previous clinics.
